Glee Season Finale to Include Tribute to D.R.I.
HOLLYWOODâTomorrow night, when watching the final episode of Gleeâs first season, donât be surprised if you hear some music thatâs fast, loud and obnoxious. According to an anonymous source who works on the show, a tribute to the thrash hardcore band, D.R.I., will cap off what has been a successful season for the new program. Songs from the bandâs first two albums, Dirty Rotten Imbeciles and Dealing with It, will be performed by all the cast members, with all the glitz and glamour expected from fans.

âThe cast has been pushing for a D.R.I. tribute all year,â said the source. âFirst there was the Madonna tribute, then the Lady Gaga episode. Itâs only natural that D.R.I. would come next.â
When asked why songs from the first two albums will be the focus of the show, rather than the five albums that followed, the source replied, âThe producers felt the crossover direction D.R.I. took was way too metal. They like the crazy, thrashy, funny stuff. The crossover experiment, they feel, was a flop.â
Guitarist for D.R.I., Spike Cassidy, was reached for comment at his place of employment, Guitar Center, in Houston, Texas.
âI think itâs great,â said Cassidy, as he stacked fifty pound boxes in the back of the store. âThat means some cash will be rolling in. Thatâll help me pay off some of my credit card bills, as well as part of my mortgage. I had no idea âreal lifeâ could be so rough.â
Songs that will be featured on tomorrowâs night show will be âWar Crimes, âCapitalists Suck,â âI Donât Need Society,â âIâd Rather be Sleeping,â and âMad Man,â in which the entire scene that proceeds the song will be played out in dramatic fashion by the cast members.
For those who donât know the song, âMad Man,â before it plays, there is a recording of someoneâs father yelling at Spike Cassidy to turn the noise down. He then proceeds to call everyone in the band a bunch of losers.
âItâs a heartbreaking scene,â said the source. âIt comes off funny on the album but I guarantee you there wonât be a dry eye in America when itâs played out on Glee. They really get to the crux of the scene, which is a father not giving his son the love and support he needs to make it in this crazy world. Itâs going to win somebody an Emmy. I know it. I just know it.â
Glee airs tomorrow night on Fox.
